The 12th joint symposium with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) will be held on February 1, 2018 at the same venue.

Life Membership

One can become a lifetime member of CRSI by paying Rs 10,000.- (Rs 5000.- for students) as membership fee. The payment can be made by electronic transfer or demand draft.


Special discount for students: If a student becomes a Life Member of the CRSI after paying Rs 5000.00 (discounted fee), his/her registration fee will be waived for one CRSI National Symposium in Chemistry (NSC). It is mandatory for the students to become a Life member of CRSI to attend meetings and present posters. For example, the students who would like to participate in the 22nd CRSI National Symposium in Chemistry (CRSI-NSC-22) at Pt.  Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, during February 1-4, 2018 (http://www.crsinsc22.in/), should become members of the society before registering for the symposium. A copy of the membership payment receipt (obtained from CRSI) should be uploaded during the registration or sent to the Convener, CRSI-NSC-22 to avail the fee waiver. 

A Lifetime Membership card will be sent to all the student members and they can avail the membership benefits such as discount on the registration fee etc for all future CRSI conferences. A copy of the CRSI Newsletter, information about joint symposia etc will also be sent to them.

Mode of Payments:

1. Electronic Fund Transfer: The membership fee can be paid to CRSI by using the following details:

For this mode of payment, kindly download the membership form (click here) and send the completed form to crsi[at]crsi.org.in with a copy to mugesh[at]ipc.iisc.ernet.in as email attachment. Alternatively, the required details can be submitted online by using the Online Registration Form. Please note that the bank reference number needs to be mentioned in the membership form for electronic payment. 


2. Demand Draft: You can pay the membership fee through demand draft (DD), which should be issued in favour of “Chemical Research Society of India” payable at Bangalore. For this mode of payment, kindly download the membership form (click here) and send the completed form along with DD to the following address:

You will receive a receipt for the payment from the CRSI once the money is credited in the bank account. A Register of members shall be maintained at the office of the Society. If you do not receive a receipt along with your life membership number within a reasonable period of time, kindly send an email to crsi[at]crsi.org.in and mugesh[at]ipc.iisc.ernet.in with relevant details. Please note that the receipt for your payment will be sent through regular mail.

Meetings of the Members

A Register of Members shall be maintained at the office of the Society.

    • A General Meeting of the Members of the Society, called the Annual General Meeting, shall be held every year.
      The business to be transacted at the meeting shall include the following:
      •  Consideration and adoption of the Annual Report of the Governing Council.
      •  Consideration and,adoption of the audited Annual Accounts and the Report of the Auditors there on.
      • Appointment of auditors and fixing their remuneration.
    • A notice of an Annual General Meeting shall be sent to every member at least 21 days before the meeting, stating therein the date, time, venue and the agenda for the meeting.
    • All General Meetings of the Society other than the Annual General Meeting shall be known as Extraordinary General Meetings and such meetings may be convened to consider any urgent matter by giving a notice of 15 days.
    • One-tenth of the members or fifty members, whichever is less, shall constitute the quorum for any General Meeting of the Society. If the requisite quorum is not present, then the meeting shall be adjourned for half an hour and thereafter the business will be transacted with the members present forming the quorum, provided the President and at least 14 members are among those present.
    • The accidental omission to send notice to a member or non-receipt of notice by some members shall not affect the validity of the proceedings of a meeting.

 

Termination of Membership

  • An individual membership shall cease by death, resignation or removal.
  • An individual member whose annual subscription is in arrears for two consecutive years despite reminders from the Society may be removed from the membership of the Society by the Governing Council. Such a member may however be readmitted by the Governing Council on his clearing the arrears and paying, a fine of Rs.200.
  • An individual member is liable to be removed by the Governing Council from the membership of the Society if he/she is declared insolvent or convicted of a criminal offence or he/she has, in the opinion of the Governing Council, behaved or acted in a manner which is in fact and in merit prejudicial or detrimental to the interests of the Society.
